SPATIAL TYPOGRAPHY

PROCESS

FINAL

“Light and Transparency” is an experimental typography intallation that uses dimensionality by layering pieces of engraved plexiglass to create abstract structures. The type is legible from the top view but begins to distort as the viewer changes their eyesight angle. Inspired by a self written narrative on the emotions the color yellow encompasses and the way light passes through suncatchers.

An exploration of spatial typography actualized in a physical exhibition. Inspired by Polaroid film that reached the height of its popularity in 1977, this installation displays influences of organic patterns from the 70’s while also incorporating a modern 3 dimensional design using plexiglass. The colored translucent plexiglass extrudes from the frame reaching out towards the viewer while still maintaining a sleek profile.
